Well Inspections
Proper well construction protects the well from contamination.
Water samples tell us if a sample is safe to drink, but they don’t tell us if construction is adequate to keep the water safe. Unless the well is properly constructed and in good condition, the next sample of drink from the faucet could be contaminated with bacteria.
A true well inspection evaluates the construction, the operation, and verifies the water quality. This way, you have assurance that the water supply will be both safe and adequate for your household use.
Common times to have a well inspection:
- When the well is installed
- When buying or selling a house
- To troubleshoot production or contamination issues
Our Well Inspections
At Enviro-Assist we start with a due diligence record search and review of all well records. Access to the house is needed, and water should be turned on. We determine the production in gallons per minute, pressure in the system, ensure that it is holding pressure as it should, note unusual stresses on components, note any breaches that can cause contamination, and take appropriate water samples, generally bacteria, nitrates, and arsenic in this geographic area. A written report is provided once the water sample results come back from the laboratory, typically two days after the inspection.
